How do I book a birth photography session?
A $500 retainer is required to reserve the weeks surrounding your birth and the remainder is due by 36 weeks.

How long will you be at my birth?
Birth is unpredictable, so I don’t have a set amount of time that I will stay. I generally come when you are in active labor (5-6 centimeters) and stay for 1-2 hours after the birth of your baby.

Does it matter where I’m giving birth?
Absolutely not, every birth is unique and I am there to capture your story!

What happens if I go into preterm labor?
technically I wouldn’t be on call, but I will do everything in my power to make it to your birth.

Do you use a flash?
I am a natural light photographer but I bring my flash with me to every birth. If needed, I would ask for permission first and I would use it discreetly and sparingly.

What happens if for some reason you can’t make my birth?
Although every effort is made to make it to your birth before your little one arrives, unforeseen circumstances could arise (i.e. illness, family emergency). If this occurs, I will contact my back up photographer to attend your birth in my place. If your baby is born while I am on my way, I will begin coverage as soon as I arrive and capture all the earliest moments while meeting your new baby.

I am concerned about my privacy, will I have control over my images being posted online?
Absolutely! If given permission to share, I generally stick to images that do not show nudity. If there is an image I feel you might be uncomfortable sharing, I will always send you the picture first and let you decide.

How long does it take for my pictures and/or birth film to be ready?
It typically takes about 2-3 weeks to finish photos and upload them to a password protected gallery you can share with family or friends. For birth films, it typically takes 5-6 weeks which I will copy to a USB drive and send it to you in a custom keepsake box.

What is a Fresh 48 session?
The ‘Fresh 48’ session is a 1-2 hour documentary style photography session to take place within your baby’s first [48] hours.
